Being the proud daughter of a life-long special educator who sacrificed time with her own children in order to effectively educate and instill confidence in the youth of the children in the community, I credit my own budding career in education to the exceptional example set by my mother. While most children were read tales of Mother Goose at a young age, I was curled up on my mother’s lap listening intently to articles regarding children with reading difficulties, as it was the only way my mother could collaboratively complete work for her master’s courses while still managing to squeeze in a bedtime story for me:) Not only do I applaud her ability to multi-task with the best of them, but I am eternally grateful for the passion and drive for children that she infused within me. I am now pursuing my own goals, currently striving to complete my MBA in Autistic Impairments at the age of 24. I am beyond eager to continue to share my knowledge with the children who will shape our future because, as my favorite quote states: “One hundred years from now it won’t matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, or what my cloths looked like, BUT the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.”

It takes a special person to work with special needs. As an educator, I know how trying and difficult it can be. I also know how necessary it is, that EVERY child have the opportunity to receive a good education. Keep It Up!!
