I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I can remember being in the 10th grade and telling myself, “I’m going to be in school for the rest of my life.” So far, I was right. I teach 10th and 11th grade English and I enjoy it very much. I’m excited to go to work everyday. In fact, It doesn’t feel like work to me. My students enjoy coming to my class daily. Some students have said that my class is the only class they look forward to attending everyday, simply because I make learning fun exciting. I teach with great energy and enthusiasm, which my students feed off of. I want to continue to make my classroom a success, however; teaching materials and resources are not easy to come by when you don’t have much funding. I’m a new teacher at Midfield High, which is a Title 1 school, completing its third consecutive year of not making AYP. I have helped to make some great improvements in the school, but there is still work to be done.
